MALI SCHOOLS

GRADES

  • There are 12 grades in mali
  • Only 8 grades are required
  • There school system is based on Americas

HOURS?

  • There hours are from 7:30am-1:30 pm monday-friday
  • They also have school on saturdag from 12:00- 4:00
  • No school kn sundays for religous reasons

CLASSROOMS

  • Classrooms are usually very small and not well made
  • There are classrooms with about 20-30 students
  • Most rooms have no windows but holes in the wall

IS FOOD PROVIDED

  • Food usually is provided to all students
  • Lunch is always rice and bread
  • They drink water not milk

GRADING SYSTEM

  • There grading system is like ours but goes 1-10 instead of 1-100
  • A:10-9
  • B: 8-7
  • C: 6-4
  • D:4-3 ---- F: 2-0

TRANSPORTATION

  • There is no public transportation
  • Kids usually walk to the nearst school

EQUIPMENT

  • Kids are provided with basic supplies
  • Ex: pencil, paper & colors
  • Some schools have computers that were donated

GRADES

  • In mali there are only three seperate grade groups
  • K-6 is Elementary
  • 7-8 Middle
  • 9-12 Highschool

UNIFORMS

  • Due to mali not having high funds there are no uniforms
  • All students are allowed to wear what ever clothes they have
  • Some schools provide clothes but not a uniform

  • Highschool classes only offer history, math, science, & reading
  • There are no electives availible
  • Some schools may have art and music
