Maniacs parents died when he was little. He had to stay with his aunt and uncle. Maniacs real name is Jeffrey.He starts to run and makes a new friend named Amanda.He is an orphan.

So far I like Maniac Magee. It Is interesting and makes me want to read more. It has vivid details and good description. I would recommend this book to anyone.
