PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Manzanar Relocation Center was the real name. The location was in Inyo, CA. The climate was more of a desert type.
Manzanar all began with with the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. That's when it changed our world.
Any Japanese Americans that lived on the west of the Untied States had to go to Relocation Centers. With no choice.
There were eight guard towers controlled by the
U. S. Army in Manzanar.
The summer temperatures were up to 110 F and in the Winter it would be below zero.
In Manzanar they developed sport teams, music, dance and even built gardens and ponds.
Some served as mess hall workers, doctors, nurses, police officers, fire fighters and teachers.
