Dollree Mapp was convicted of possessing obscene materials after an admittedly illegal police search of her home for a fugitive. She appealed her conviction on the basis of freedom of expression
The U.S. Supreme Court voted 6-3 in the favor of Mapp. The Court overturned the conviction, and five justices found that the States were bound to exclude evidence seized in violation of the 4th Amendment
it made evidence obtained illegally inadmissible in court.
I agree with the courts decision. Its a case debating our constitutional rights. The court deciding in the same way i would have.
Its against the 5th amendment to be forced to incriminate yourself by allowing unlawful search and seizures. It's same as saying something incriminating but showing something incriminating.
