WHAT DID MARCO POLO DO?

• When he was 17, he traveled to Asia with his father and uncle to sell and trade goods.
• He worked with the Emperor Kublai Khan for 17 years traveling in Asia.
• He discovered new lands in Asia and became very rich.

WHERE DID MARCO POLO GO?

• Went on trips around the Mongol Empire to find out more about the land and its people for Kublai Khan.
• He explored countries that we now call Afghanistan, China, Kashgar, the Gobi Desert and Turkey.

WHEN DID MARCO POLO EXPLORE?

• In 1271, he traveled with his father and uncle to sell and trade goods in Asia.
• Once they were gone for 14 years trading.
• He worked for the Kublai Khan for 17 years.
