WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF MARFAN SYNDROME?

• It usally occurs when there is a change or mutation
• In the genetic material in the fibrillin 1 gene
• On the chromosomes 15.( sex chromosomes) This mutation is inherited
• from there parents which have this gene.
• About 3/4 people inherit it. But it can me a mutation

MOST COMMAN SIGNS

• Their body has no body fat/ tissue.
• Long narrow face that affects the roof of the mouth making it arched
• Flat feet
• Strech marks on their skin without any weight change.
• There eyes are either higher on there face ot lower

WHO HAS IT?

• More than 5,000 people have
• Marfan syndrome including
• Men and women

LIFE CHANGES

• The life expectancy is about the age of 70s
• Have very low tissue/ fats.
• Most people with this disease can libpve a pretty normal life.

TREATMENTS

• Doctors know you have Marfan syndrome by taking
• Exams on diffrent body parts
• They are diagnosed when they show all the sigh and
• take the body exams. The prenatal test is available
• When the gene mutation is known.

WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO TREAT IT.

• Well Marfan syndrome is uncurable as of right now
• But there are some ways that can make life a little easier such as
• Limiting your physical activities and taking the medicine that is
• Describe for you. Also you have to have routine doctor appointments, to make sure
• Your symptoms are not getting worse otherwise they will have to have surgery
