Margaret Chan is the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2006.

Margaret Chan's previously served as Assistant Director-General for Communicable Diseases (2003-2006).

Margaret Chan got her medical degree at the University of Ontario in Canada and her Public Health degree at the National University of Singapore.

In 2014 Forbes ranked Margaret Chan the 30th most powerful woman in the world.
