  • To make the flans we can prepare our own caramel or, as in my case, save a little time by using some leftover liquid caramel that I had in the kitchen. In case of going for the first option, you only need to heat 65 grams of sugar and a tablespoon of water in a saucepan or pan over medium low heat. You don't have to move the container, it's a matter of letting it brown slowly. Be careful because if it burns it will be damaged and you will have to do it again.

  • We cover the base of a large flanera or seven small ones with the freshly made caramel and reserve. It will harden as the minutes go by, but this is perfectly normal. When cooked it will become liquid again.

  • Prepare the flan mixture in a wide and deep container. We start with the eggs and sugar, stirring well, but without beating. We do not want to incorporate air to prevent bubbles or holes from forming during cooking.

  • Next we crush the cookies, either by hand (using a bag and a rolling pin) or with the help of a food processor or blender. The important thing is to leave them very fine, to make them powder. We booked.

  • Heat the milk and when it starts to smoke add it little by little to the mixture of eggs and sugar that we have in the bowl. We mix everything and add the Maria biscuits that we have made powder. Fill the flaneras with the mixture and place them in the microwave, evenly distributed around the edge of the plate so that they all cook equally.
