WHY DID SAMUEL CLEMENS USE A PEN NAME
- Sam used many pen names before settling for mark twain
- He used the name Thomas Jefferson Snodgrass before
- twain is a term for two. The boatmans cry was "mark twain" or by the mark
- He claimed that is wasn't entirely her invention
