RED FACTS
Nickname "Red Planet"
Its atmosphere is 95 percent carbon dioxide
You would need oxygen and need to wear an airtight suit to walk.
Temperatures range from -140 degrees to 20 degrees Celsius.
In Fahrenheit -140 is -220 degrees and 20 is 68 degrees.

IS MARS LIVING?
As of now there can not be any living water on Mars.
Any water would turn into gas.
The only water that is on the whole planet is in the two polar ice caps.
One northern and one southern.
The water is frozen and contains carbon dioxide.

SEASONS ON MARS
Mars has a tilted axis.
In the winter an ice cap grows larger and turns into carbon dioxide.
When one ice cap is growing lager one is shrinking.
Many wind storms arise.
Causing some regions to look darker.

EXPLORING MAR'S
Mars has many craters just like the moon.
New probes have visited many have figured that there was liquid water present.
They examined many rocks.

VOLCANOS
Some regions have giant volcanos others not.
It shows that there was once lava that flowed from the volcano.
No longer any active volcanoes.
One volcano called Olympus Mons is the largest volcano in the whole solar system.
It covers an area so big it's as big as Missouri.

MAR'S MOONS
Mars has two very small moons.
One is called Phobos it is 27 kilometers in diameter.
Secondly Deimos which is only 15 kilometers in diameter.
They are both covered in craters.
Astronomers predict that Phobos will smash into Mars in about 40 million years.

Summary
Mars is a red planet. It is the farthest away from the sun. To be exact it's 6,794 kilometers away from the sun. It also has 2 moons. The most out of any planet. Who knows maybe some day it will be you on Mars?
