Martin Clougherty

- He was 37 years old
- Lived with his mother, his sister Teresa, and his brother Stephen.
Martin lived across Commercial Street from the molasses tank.
Martin was just getting out of bed. His sister, who was also in the room, screamed about the molasses tank. Then a wave of molasses knock the Cloughertys' house right off its foundation.
During the flood, Martin's bed was pushed towards him and he climbed on it. He also managed to get his sister out of the sea of molasses.
After the flood, Martin and Teresa were taken to a neighbor's house. They found out that their mother was dead, but their brother Stephen was alive and taken to a hospital south of the neighborhood.
