Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a theory created by Dr. Abraham Maslow in 1943. The model proposes that there are 5 categories of human needs, and the most basic needs must be fulfilled before moving on to more advanced needs.

There are 5 Levels:

Level 1: Physiological needs

  • Air
  • Food
  • Drink
  • Shelter
  • Sex
  • Sleep

Level 2: Safety Needs

  • Protection from elements
  • Security
  • Order
  • Law
  • Stability
  • Freedom from Fear

Level 3: Love and Belonging needs

  • Friendship
  • Intimacy
  • Affection
  • Love
  • Relationships

level 4: esteem needs

  • Achievement
  • Mastery
  • Independence
  • Status
  • Dominance
  • Prestige
  • Respect

level 5: Self-Actualization needs

  • Realizing personal potential
  • Self-fulfillment
  • Personal growth
