SURFACE AREA

  • It tells you how much wrapping you will need to cover the item.
  • Prism S=Ph+2B
  • Cylinder S=2(pi)rh+2r^2

VOLUME

  • It tells you how much it takes to fill up the item
  • Prism-cylinder. V=Bh
  • Pyramid-Cone V=1/3Bh
  • Sphere. V=4/3(pi)r^3

EXAMPLES OF SURFACE AREA

  • Laramee bought a box filed with toys the height of the box was 3ft, width 2ft, and length of 4ft. How much wrapping paper will it take to cover the box of toys.

  • A water bed has dimensions of 6ft length ,4ft width, and a height of 42in.how much water will it take to fill up the water bed

  • VOLUME
