PRESENTATION OUTLINE

TRANSFORMATION

  • Moving a shape so that it is in a different position, but still has the same size, area, angles and line lengths.

ISOMETRY

Equality of measure.

TRASLATION

Change in form, appearance, nature, or character.

COMPOSITION OF TRANSFORMATION

When two or more transformations are combined to form a new transformation

REFLECTION

The act of reflecting or the state of being reflected.

SYMMETRY

  • the correspondence in size, form, and arrangement of parts on opposite sides of a plane, line, or point

REFLECTIONAL SYMMETRY

  • Point Symmetry is when every part has a matching part that is the same distance from the central point

ROTATIONAL STYMMETRY

  • the shape or image can be rotated some amount and it still looks the same

POINT SYMMETRY

  • Point Symmetry is when every part has a matching part that is the same distance from the central point ...

LINE SYMMETRY RE

Another name for reflection symmetry. One half is the reflection of the other half.

DILATION

To resize something.

GLIDE REFLECTIONS

When two or more transformations are combined to form a new transformation

5 WORDS

  • Symmetry- A butterfly in the woods
  • Reflection- When you look into your mirror
  • Isometry- If your an architect drawing out a layout
  • Dilation- Turing a real car into a model toy
  • Transformation- When your in math class and you need to reflect something
