In our math class we do things really different.

FOR EXAMPLE

  • Mrs. Zabawa has designed math in a way that gives us ownership over our learning. Mrs. Zabawa decides the topic/lesson we learn, and we get to decide how we want to show her how we've learned the lesson.

HOW TO BE A TEACHER

  • You have to be somenone who works above and beyond what is expected of you
  • If you get a student you can't race ahead of them
  • And make sure if you're a teacher, you are focused during math and helping your student.
  • Mrs. Zabawa has grouped us in student/teacher groups. This allows us to work together and ask our classmates simple questions, rather than running to the teacher. We save the really tough questions for Mrs. Zabawa!

TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

  • Mrs.Zabawa will assign who are teachers and who are students
  • The teachers are actully students they just help other people and we have to move around the room with our student
  • If your a student the teacher will help you and check your work and pick out what your project will be

MATH WORK

  • When we first started we only had Mrs.Zabawa teach us
  • Then Mrs.Zabawa was using Edpuzzle to help us learn.
  • Now we have student-teacher groups

WHAT IS EDDPUZZLE

  • Edpuzzle is were Mrs. Zabawa sends us a link to google classrom
  • The link will take us to edpuzzle where we watch math videos
  • She asks us questions on edpuzzle, we anwser them and she grades our anwsers.
  • Mrs.Zabawa gives us a paper for notes while we watch edpuzzle

WHAT WE DO

  • First we do out edpuzzle videos
  • Next we get to choose if we ant to work on 10 textbook problems or bule sheet for our written practice.
  • Then we have to do a project such as a pic colloge, Explain Everything video, a stop motion... or MORE!
  • This may take somewhere from 30-40 mintues
  • We also use our classtime to complete our Daily Spiral Review and the 2-4-2 page
