PRESENTATION OUTLINE
MATTER EXISTS IN DIFFERENT
Particle arrangement and motion determine the different states of matter
States of matter:
Different forms in which matter can exist.
THREE COMMON STATES OF MATTER:
THE STATE OF A SUBSTANCE DEPENDS
The space between particles and the way that particles move.
SOLIDS
- Particles in solids are
- Very close together and they
- Can only vibrate in place.
LIQUIDS
- Particles are close together.
- They slide and glide.
GAS
- Particles aren't close together
- And they can move freely.
