SCHOOLING

He started "college" at 8 years old, already reading and writing
He was recommended for a scholarship by the bishop of arras
He then studied until 23 to become a 3rd gen lawyer
He got his degree from lycées Louis le-grand

EARLY POLITICS

After finishing school he became criminal judge of arras
He also was a member of the board of the school he attended
He was very influenced by jean-Jacques rosseau
Ironically opposed and questioned the death penalty
