THE START OF THE VOYAGE

  • On September 6th, 1620, the Mayflower finally leaves England for North America. It's 2 month journey is about to begin...

  • There was 30 kids and 102 passengers on board.
  • Half of the passengers die from lack of vitamin D.
  • Some of them left for religion and others for better wives.
  • On board a child was born.

FOOD

  • What they ate were: dried peas, mustard seeds, barley, rice, fish, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg

CREW LIFE

  • The crew worked on the decks, they also adjusted the sails, they were there when the ship got blown off course.

PASSENGER LIFE

  • The passengers lived below deck, they also barley got a breath of fresh air.
  • If you were a passenger you would have to share your bed with another person.
  • One of the passengers got thrown of deck, but survived because he caught the rope throw to him from another passenger.
  • Many passengers get seasick.

EXTRA FACTS:

  • They wore thrum caps
  • They had animals on board
  • They used flint and steel to make fire
  • Their 2nd ship broke down
  • The kids played a game called 9 mans morris, they told riddles, sang songs, to help the kids stay entertained.

THE VOYAGE ENDS

  • At last they land at Cape Cod, Massachusetts on November 11th after 65 days in the sea. The journey has now ended....
