How can listening to children’s opinions benefit society? (Societal)

“Harnessing the Energies of Youth” by Isaac C. Lamba

In this article, Lamba writes about subjects relating children, such as:
-Issues in the world that harm children
*including diseases that affect large numbers of children
-The importance of well-educated children
-Children’s significance in creating a productive world

Lamba talks about how children’s opinions will benefit the future: “Children need to be listened to for their proper participation in charting out their future as important partners in the custodianships of the world” (1).

He clearly depicts how important listening to children’s thoughts is.

Children grow up to lead the world and therefore must have a voice in the world.

Scout talks about the necessity of listening to children with her Uncle Jack.

He goes on to explain that, “productivity in every nation originates from children any youth...” (1).

Along with talking about the importance for change in aid of the future, Lamba talks about how change can create a more productive society now.

Atticus finds it important to teach and listen to children; he makes this clear to Jack as well.

Lamba also comments on how, “youth have enormous mental and physical energy that seek expression” (2).

Not only do children need to be listened to, they must have space to express themselves! Children have so many creative and logical ideas that they would delight in sharing!

Scout and Jem enjoy learning from Atticus and forming ideas and opinions.
