ICE WEDGING
Water seeps into cracks and
freezes, then expands, this is a result of ice wedging.
ANIMALS ACTIONS
Burrowing animals loosen and break apart rocks in soil. The holes are formed bees burrowing.
PLANT GROWTH
Plant roots grow into cracks in rocks. This is plant growth because the roots are growing into the rock.
RELEASE OF PRESSURE
Erosion removes material, this is release of pressure because some of the layers are broken away.
ABRASION
Sand and other materials erode away rock. This is a picture of abrasion, the softer rock was eroded away.
