  • Fever and chills
  • Mental status changes
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Severe head ache

  • Agitation
  • Bulging soft spots
  • Decreased alertness
  • Rapid breathing

  • Spinal Tap
  • Blood Culture
  • Chest X-ray
  • CT scan

Treatment

  • Antibiotics- depending on the bacteria
  • Hospitalization
  • Medicines to help reduce symptoms(through a tube)
