PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY

  • Present day southern Mexico and north of Central America
  • Grasslands, tropical rain forests, mountains, great rivers
  • 20-100 inches of rain per year
  • Highland area regions tend to be much cooler
  • Lowland areas tend to be hot and tropical

PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY

  • The rain and mainly warm climate helped with farming crops
  • Different regions had different lifestyles
  • Based on these languages or dialect changed throughout Mesoamerica
  • Farming was influenced greatly by the geography, main way of life

PRE-COLOMBIAN LIFESTYLE

  • Native tribes such as the Aztec, Maya, and Olmec
  • Stone architecture
  • Weapons including spears and stones
  • Limited fighting mostly between tribes
  • Main source of food and work is hunting and farming
