MESOPOTAMIA AND BABYLONIANS.

Babylonians made their buildings from clay. They had little stone and little wood to work with because of their current location. They lived in a desert between two rivers so clay and water was abundant.

Babylonians wrote things on clay tablets that were made from an abundant material of clay and water. Then they let it out to dry so it was permanent.

They made wedge shaped marks and it formed a Babylonian language called cuneiform. This was the first form of Babylonian writing.

Many of the Babylonians kept records and time by writing on clay tablets. The kept track of what they traded and who the did it with.

Cuneiform writing was an efficient way to write. But, many symbols and actions were hard to imitate with cuneiform.
