ART

  • Mesopotamian art was intended to serve as a way to glorify powerful rulers
  • Art was made from natural resources (stone, shells, alabaster, and marble)

RELIGION

  • They believed in many gods (polytheistic)
  • Believed that every aspect of the world was controlled by supernatural causes

GOVERNMENT

  • Similar to democracy
  • Ruled by kings

AGRICULTURE

  • In Mesopotamia there were alot of crops to grow
  • Grain, fruit, vegetables, and barn animals
  • Irrigation helped tremendously

TRADE

  • Mesopotamia was a region did not have many natural resources.
  • They transported grains on boats.
  • Grain, oils, and textiles were taken from babylonian cities to foreign cities for timber

ARCHITECTURE

  • Ancient architecture of the region of the tigris-euphrates river system
  • No architectural profession exsited in mesopotamia.
