MESOPOTAMIAN INVENTIONS

PLOW

The mesopotamian people made the plow to allow for increased farming.

WHEELS

The Sumerians first invented the wheel. It was one of the greatest achievements in the workds.

CALENDER

Primarily Lunar, with cycles of 29-30 days and 354 days in a year.

CUNIEFORM

It was made for taking account of what they bought or sold. Made using a reed tool called a stylus.

SAILBOATS

Thanks to sailboats the mesopotamians could put nets in the river much easier, leading to more food.

CODE OF HAMMARABI

WEllpreserved Babylonian law code of ancient Mesopotamia,dating back about 1772 BC.

IRRIGATION

Thanks to the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, the agriculture in mesopotamia thrived.

NUMBER SYSTEMS

The mesopotamian number symbols only counted up to 57

CHARIOTS

Soon after the invention of the wheel, chariots were made for transportation.
