WHAT ABOUT CHAIN MAIL?

(LIKE AN ANNOYING "MUST REPLY" THINGY ON FACEBOOK OR IN YOUR E-MAIL?)

WE'RE WRITING #CHANGEMAIL

You're writing a positive message to another grade 9 student that may change the way they perceive themselves. #changemail

You can write this message in cursive or use the computer.

All of you have special things about you for which you should receive praise.

DIRECTIONS:

  • Choose a grade nine. Not your bestie. Sign up for them. Only one each. Choose creatively.
  • Write them a short, anonymous change letter that is kind & may brighten their day.
  • Write the letter in cursive, if you dare.
  • Fold your letter in thirds (envelope), address envelope, do not seal, stick sticky on front.
  • Keep this good deed to yourself. Although you could tweet in anonymously through our class Twitter!

OUTCOMES (AKA "HOW HIGH TO JUMP"):

  • 8.1: use writing to consider others' perspectives
  • 9.2: make appropriate choices of content for specific audiences & purposes
  • Due at end of Wednesday's class
