METRICS EVERYDAY

Although we do not realize it, we use the metric system everyday.

The Electricity we use in our homes and offices is measured in kilowatts, a metric measurement.

The food we eat is often measured by the metric system.

The things we drink are often measured in liters like a soda bottle.

The medical profession often uses the metric system. For example, the shots we get are measured in cubic centimeters (cc).

The photos we take are with camera lenses measured in millimeters ( mm).

The metric system is used in how our weather is reported. For example, barometric pressure is the force exerted by the atmosphere at a given point.

The motorcycle engine size is measured in cubic centimeters.

Internet connection speeds use the metric system.

There are daily words and phrases that use the metric system. We use the word "calorie" when referring to the food we eat and the energy we burn.

Unfortunately, there are just some things that the metric system is not used.....
