THE MEXICAN CESSION...

• Was the result of the Mexican-American war
• Occurred in 1848
• Happened because of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
• Was an area of present day U.S that Mexico agave up
• Mexico surrendered land to the United States

CAUSES OF CONFLICT

• Mexico did not want to give the land up

BETWEEN WHO?

Results...
Mexico had to give the United States their land for the cost of $15 million, because of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. Also, Mexicans who still lived in the land, had to become U.S citizens.
