PROTESTS FOR HISPANIC RIGHTS

CONDITIONS

  • Did not allow spanish students to speak spanish in school
  • They Did not teach or acknowldege mexican history in their teaching

ACTIONS

  • Thousands of students participated in walkouts
  • People arrested saw them selfs as political prisoners and went on a hunger strike

OBSTACLES

  • During the walkouts the police struck them and ushered them back to school
  • The Board of education disiplined the students who were part of the walkouts

ACHEIVEMENTS

  • More hispanic teachers were hired because of the walkouts
  • More Academic programs were added for the hispanic students
