What made Mexico give up part of their territiory to America?

Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo

• This all started when Mexico and America were fighting because they were not able to decide who owned Texas.
• This treaty was made by America to end this war.
• The treaty included that Mexico had to give up 525,000 square miles of its teritiory.

My last question is Who was the first person to discover Mexico.

Cabeza De Vaca was one of the first people to discover Mexico.
