• Was the king of Phrygia
• Midas was a very humble king
• Midas had a daughter named Marigold
• Midas found Bacchus drunk outside of his kingdom

BACCHUS

• The god that granted Midas' wish was Bacchus the god of wine
• Bacchus gave Midas a wish because Midas sheltered him
• When Bacchus woke up Midas gave him food, clothes, and entertainment

MIDAS

• Midas asked Bacchus for the gift to turn any thing he touches will turn to gold
• He became greedy because he already had all the wealth he needed
• He thought "Why couldn't I be richer"

MIDAS

• Midas was starting to have doubts when his dog turned to gold
• At dinner Midas was careful not to touch his servants
• When Midas was eating every thing he touched turned to gold
• When he tried to drink his soup it turned into molten gold

PACTOLUS RIVER

• Midas went to Bacchus to find away to get rid of the golden touch
• Bacchus told him to go to the pactolus river and his touch would be gone
• He did so and everything turned back to normal
