WHAT WAS THE MIDDLE PASSAGE

• The middle passage was the middle part of the triangle
• Trade where after they landed on Africa's slave coast
• They loaded up with human cargo (slaves)
• Next they sailed of to the americas where the slaves were sold

The level of slave exports to the New World grew from about 36,000 a year in the early eighteenth century to about 80,000 a year
