What was the middle passage?

The middle passage was a
triangular trading route between Africa,America and Europe which they traded slaves,crops and spices with each other.

Why was it called the middle passage?

The middle passage was called the middle passage because it was in between the Americas and Africa and was the most known way of travel.

Who was involved?

America,Africa and Europe were all parts of the middle passage they all traded with each other in order to keep the passage.

Who was affected?

Mostly the slaves were affected in this middle passage they were the main things that were being traded among countries

How many weeks/months did it take to travel?

It took anywhere from 4-8 weeks to travel from country to country in the middle passage.

The conditions on the slave ships were not good at all they barely had any space to move or to sleep the slaves were directly beside and above and below each other it was very hard for them.

Sailors and slave holders started using the middle passage about 200 years ago when sailors started transporting spices and crops.

The ships that carried slaves were very large so that they could fit a lot of slaves and transport more slaves faster but it was very compact.

The sailors and soldiers were on the top deck and the slaves were in the bottom of the ship and the slaves were squished together and compact to make room for other slaves
