WHAT FORCES LED THESE PEOPLE TO MIGRATE?
- Mobs were persecuting them
- The mobs had martyred Joseph Smith(their prophet)
- Looking for safety to practice what they believed
- New live, new start
- A better future

PROBLEMS AND DIFFICULTIES THEY EXPERIENCED
- Were still being persecuted
- Had little food and water
- Bad weather
- Little clothing(would get worn out)

- Worked together
- Weren't an official state in the U.S.A.
- Weren't being persecuted by the government

- The Mormons were starting a new civilization
- Usually did all jobs
- Particularly where needed the most

- On the first part of their journey they were
- Once they settled in Utah, it was peaceful

- It was a forced/voluntary
- Forced because the government was kicking them out
- Voluntary because they didn't want to be persecuted any more

WERE THERE ANY MIGRATION RESTRICTIVE LAWS?
- No there were no laws at all
- They started a new area just to themselves
- Then became a state
- Had to stop plagiarism

- Mormons migrated to as known to today as Utah
- Utah was not a state yet at the time
- Eventually became part of the United States
