THE EASTERN PLAINS

  • Rainfall on the eastern plains made it possible for American Indians to farm successfully
  • They settled in villages near rivers and built earth lodges to live in.
  • A lodge is a home that plains Indians made by using bark,earth, and grass

LIFE OF THE WESTERN PLAINS

  • The dry land of the western plains made farming difficult .
  • But the area had many buffalo. These huge Woolley animals
  • Gave the western plains every thing they needed.

BUFFALO RECOURSES

  • They used buffalo for shields,weapons,clothes, and food

THE NOMADS

  • The Spanish brought horses to North America .
  • Which made it easier for nomad groups to hunt and travel.
  • They followed the buffalo herds.
  • A nomad is a person who moves around
