Combat Canines
They lead the way along side their handlers into some of the midst dangerous places on Earth.
This is my uncle Fernando. He served as a technician in a spy plane. Basically he flew over certain areas up really high and looked for dangerous stuff and tolled other planes about them.
Purple Heart
A Purple Heart is a medal awarded to those were wounded or killed in action against a U.S. enemy.
P-C Orion
A P-C Orion is something my uncle would have served in. The role is maritime patrol aircraft. The first flight was November 1959.
Dog tags
Used for identification of a soldier. They are called dog tags because they look kind of like an actual dog tag. They were first created during the Civil War in 1866.
Arlington National Cemetery
This was first established May 13, 1864. The number of graves as of now is 400,000. The size is 624 acres. This was first established during the Civil War.
21 Gun Salute
A 21 Gun Salute started as a tradition form the Naval. The customs evolved over time and now it is fired for heads of state. The rounds of shots may vary depending on the conditions.
