TRAINING

  • All members of armed forces go through boot camp
  • Last 8-13 weeks
  • They also go to technical schools which last 10-20 weeks

ADVANCEMENT

  • Each branch of the military has different rules determining promotion
  • promotion may include time in service and in grade
  • Also job performance, a fitness report, and passing scores

NATURE OF WORK

  • They work on or near military bases throughout the United States and world
  • The bases offer comfortable housing and amenities such as stores

  • The United States spends a lot of its overall budget on national defense
