A mind shift is when we gain information that will change how we think. When we change how we think about something our perspective changes.

What you think about will determine how you behave. If you think negatively you will behave in a negative manner. You can think about only negative things and expect to do positive things. The bible speaks about how we think. Philippians 4 tells us what types of things we should think about. Romans reminds us that if we want to be different godly people then we need to allow God to change how we think.

The bible tells us that we should be like Jesus, we are to walk as He did. We are to be perfect like He is. In order for that to take place we need to think like Jesus. The amazing thing is that because Gods Spirit lives in us we can think like Jesus. The Spirit of God gives us the mind of Christ.

Simple as it is, it is also true. If we think like Jesus we will live like Jesus. We can not on the other hand think like the world and expect to live like Jesus did. We have to have a mind shift and start to think like Jesus.

In Philippians 2 we read about how Jesus thought and how He lived. This passage reveals a very different way of thinking. We hear how Jesus gave up everything and became nothing to save us. How He was not interested in self advancement but only in serving God. How Jesus think and lives is very different to what the world expects.

In order to please God like Jesus we must put away our desire to get only what we want. We need to think about others needs not just our own. Gods pleasure needs to be more important to us than our own pleasure. We need to loos ourselves instead of always focusing on ourselves.

When someone does an act of service they come do some good and they leave. Jesus did not come and do a few good deeds. He actually became a servant, He allowed Himself to be told what to do, He was always on call, always ready to do what God wanted. We are not meant to do a good deed here an there, we are meant to be servants in Gods household ready at all times to do what He wants. Servant of God is who I am not what I do.

God through the power of the Holy Spirit is able to change how I think, and in doing so will change how I live. It may seem impossible but God can and will change me if I want Him to.

In order to be called a child of God you need to have believed in Jesus Christ His son. John 1:12-13 tells us to all who believe ,God gives the right to become children of God. If you have not believed in Jesus and committed to a forever relationship with Him you are not His child.

In a household hired hands do not get an inheritance. They may work very hard be awesome people and better behaved than the children of the house , but they are not entitled to an inheritance. You can do as many good deeds as you want , your life can put Christians to shame, but unless you are a child of God you will not get an inheritance from God. Only the children get that. But as already stated all you need to do to become a child of God is to believe in Jesus.
