Mining refers to the process of extracting metals and minerals from the earth

Mining reaps huge profit for the companies that provide employment to a large number of workers.

Despite it's economic importance, the effect of mining on the environment is a pressing issue.

Main Reason 1:

> Mining causes deforestation.

> Mining requires large areas of forests to clears so that it can be dug into for minerals.

Main Reason 2:

> It has a big impact on biodiversity.

> The forests are homes to a great number of living organisms.

> Clearing of the forests leads to a large loss of habitat to a large number of living things.

Main Reason 3:

> A large amount of chemicals leak out into the land.

> The chemical changes the composition of the land, these chemicals are poisonous and are unsuitable for the plants to grow.

Conclusion:

We should minimize mining because it has a big impact to our environment which may affect our health as well. Since mining requires large forests to be cleared, we should minimize it so that natural disasters would not occur.
