CLIMATE

Each season in Minnesota has a variety of temperatures and precipitation. The average summer temperatures are a high of 85° and a low of 63°. The record high temperature was 114° on July 6th, 1936. Tornados are often seen during summer months. During May through September hail storms are common. The average fall temperature is a high of 54° and a low of 34°. The average of winter is a high of 23° and a low of 6°. The lowest temperature recorded was -59° on February 9th, 1899. In 1940 53 people died from a blizzard! The coldest city is international falls, witch falls on a rainy lake that lies along the Canadian border. November through April you can usually see about 4 inches of snow. The average temperature during spring is a high of 60° and a low of 32°. On April 1886 a tornado in St.Cloud killed 74 people. If you want normal wheather visit Minnesota for a change!

Minnesota has many landforms including lakes rivers plains and mountains. The bordering states are Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Michigan. There are many plants located in MN including water lillies, elders, cranberries, snow and huckle berries, plus many more! Minnesota has a mountain one of them is the Eagle Mountain. MN has a lot of trees including the oak tree, the jack pine, the red pine, and the white pine. Minnesota has lots of scenery to check out!

Our minerals are coal, limestone, ore, iron, sand, gravel, and granite. Did you know about 7,000 Minnesotans work in mines. Minnesota leads in mining for iron ore. Farmers grow many different crops witch are oats, soybeans, barley, corn, hay, apples, potatoes, and peas. Livestock are found on farms for there meat, skin, and other uses. Farmers raise cows, hogs, turkey, chickens, and cattle. The recourses that we produce from our livestock is eggs, dairy, and meat. I think if you visit Minnesota you would like it there because there are many farm animals.

Minnesota has many fun things to see and do Minnasota also has many interesting fun facts. One of the places to visit is the giant spoon bridge with a cherry in Minneapolis. Minnesota has its state symbols. Like the state flower is the Pink Lady Slipper. The state bird is the Common Loon. The state tree is the Norway Pine. The state nicknames are the Gopher State, the North Star State, the Land of 10,000 Lakes, the Land of Sky Blue Waters, and the Bread and Butter State. Did you know 2,000,000 Minnesota pine trees are turned into Christmas trees? In 1861 MN helped the Civil War. Here is some more random fun facts, Minnesota has about 11,842 lakes. Minnesota is the 12th biggest state and became the 32nd state in 1858. St.Paul Minnesotas capital has about 272,235 citizens. In about 20,000 B.C. humans first roamed what is now Minnesota. Here are 2 of the famous people born in Minnesota, Judy Garland who played Dorothy in the original Wizard of Oz.Also Olympic Medalist Skier Lindsay Vonn. Minnesota has lots of fun facts!
