Major Plot
12 year old Molly Parker's mother passed away from cancer when she was young. She lives with her mother's old friend Barbara. Molly sets on a mission to reunite with her father Josh Cameron, a selfish, rich, famous NBA superstar who doesn't even know he has a daughter. She spends entire book trying to convince him that he is her biological father. The two of them go at it through the entire book but his peacemaking housekeeper Mattie keeps the two of them balanced.

Main Idea
Will Molly's consistency and determination be enough to persuade the stubborn, selfish, superstar Josh Cameron that she is his blood daughter?

CHARACTER REVIEW

  • I liked every character overall and felt they each fit their own niche into making the story as good as it is
  • Although info about Molly's legal family isn't really necessary

HOW IS THE WRITING?

  • Powerful
  • Has to be powerful because of the different situations that the innocent 12 year old main character had to go through

STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES OF BOOK

  • Strength was the emotion that each character had
  • No two characters had the same features (strength)
  • Weakness - I thought they made Josh a little too ruthless. Somewhat unrealistic
  • Some of the journeys Molly made were unrealistic considering her age

FAVORITE PART OF THE WHOLE BOOK

  • When Josh goes to watch one of Molly's games and compliments her but also criticizes her
  • Playful scene

EMOTIONAL OR LOGICAL?

  • Obviously emotional because it's fiction, not factual at all
  • Contains strong emotion and touches heart

RECOMMENDATION?

  • I would recommend this book to just about everyone
  • Even if someone does not enjoy the genre of the book, it will be hard for them to call the book boring

CONCLUSION

  • Overall, the book expressed that the unexpected can always happen
  • People just need something specific to push them into bettering themselves
  • Have an open mind and imagination when reading because there are a few parts one might not find realistic
