Here are the Basics: -US Airways flight 1549 hit a flock of Canadian Geese, which caused engine failure and the pilot and crew had to land the plane on the Hudson River
WHO, WHAT, AND WHERE? -The pilot who landed the plane was Capt. B. Sullenberg an ex-fighter pilot -This was on January 9, 2009 -The flight left from LaGuardia Airport in New York and the flight landed on the Hudson River near Manhattan
WHY THIS MIRACLE? We chose this miracle because we think it's inspiring how much the pilot cares about his job and his loyalty is really incredible. His commitment sets an example for us all.
WHY DOES THIS MATTER? -The crew and captain were prepared for any possible problems which is a wake-up call to pilots who don't pay attention. The plane went down 208 seconds after the birds were hit and without great attention the successful landing would not have been successful
This miracle has challenged us in our faith by inspiring us to strive for greatness. To always be diligent and to realize that we have devoted our lives to God and need to always be aware of that and make it our number one priority.
