Mission: To challenge students to think for themselves, encourage them to do more than average, and support them unconditionally.

To create thinkers

To empower others that they have confidence to think for themselves. That their ideas and solutions are found to be important.

Because first a person must have confidence in themselves before they can share with the world.

TO ENCOURAGE

I want to encourage others to continue to learn. To not get comfortable. To reach for boundaries they think are too far.
To let them know they are great and that someone believes in them.

TO SUPPORT

To support them at their peaks and valleys. To show up! Being present in students lives.

To share a calm voice, an uplifting spirit, and a kind word when needed.

To celebrate their successes long after they leave my classroom.

Vision:
That the students and colleagues I encounter have a strong desire for community; that they shower patience and grace upon each other.

My greatest attributes as a teacher are patience and grace. I have to have patience for my students. It will take them some time to come around, but I have to believe they will. I have to show grace to them. They will mess up, some multiple times, but at some point they'll "get it."

Because I have a God that has shown me patience and grace over and over.

He is the best teacher.

...and to never take yourself too seriously.
