Why did we choose Mars?

• Chose Mars because its close to Earth

SPACECRAFT

• We wanted our spacecraft to land how we wanted it to land
• We wanted our spacecraft to be aerodynamic
• We wanted our spacecraft to travel to planet Mars
• We needed our spacecraft to carry lots of fuel
• We wanter our spacecraft to communicate with people from far distances

SPACECRAFT PROTOTYPE #1

• We wanted a our suspension lines to be about 10 yards
• We wanted our canopy diameter to be about 14

SPACECRAFT PROTOTYPE #2

• We wanted our suspension lines to be 12
• We wanted our canopy diameter to be 18

SPACECRAFT PROTOTYPE #3

• We both agreed the suspension line length is good for our spacecraft
• We both agreed the canopy diameter is good for our spacecraft

PARACHUTES

• Parachutes will help our spacecraft land for safely
• Instead of going fast you cna go slow with a parachute
• You need to measure your canopy diameter then suspension lines to make them work good

TESTING

• Our first try didn't travel that far
• Our second try went pretty far
• Our third try went farther then all other tries we done

FINAL TESTING

• We first used paper
• We then used leather
• We finally used plastic
• Our final test worked best

• I learned how to make parachutes
• I learned what Mars is like
• I learned facts about spacecrafts and Mars from NASA
