MITOSIS

BY: ZACH CATE

INTERPHASE

INTERPHASE: PHASE OF THE CELL CYCLE WHICH COMES BEFORE MITOSIS. INTERPHASE IS WHERE THE CELL IS FOR MOST OF ITS LIFE

PROPHASE

Chromatin fibers become coiled into chromosomes with each chromosome having two chromatids joineD AT THE CENTROMERE

METAPHASE

IN METAPHASE, THE SPINDLE FULLY DEVELOPS AND THE CHROMOSOMES ALIGN AT THE METAPHASE PLATE (A PLANE THAT IS EQUALLY DISTANT FROM THE TWO SPINDLE POLES).

ANAPHASE

IN ANAPHASE, THE PAIRED CHROMOSOMES SEPARATE AND BEGIN MOVING TO OPPOSITE ENDS OF THE CELL.

TELOPHASE

During telophase the cell membrane gets "pinched" and the orgenelles and DNA are split.
