PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE FUTURE OF MOBILE HEALTH

Dream Team- Brittany Merino, Steffany Marroquin, Vanessa Borja, Walter Jackson

WHAT IS MOBILE HEALTH?

  • MHealth is using cellphones or other wireless technology to improve medicalcare. Many people in today's society have criticized how they are unable to handle their own personal health information/records.
  • The inability of their health information to be used in different locations with different doctors has proven insufficient.
  • A life or death situation could come up, in which information on the patient is needed, this is a problem that still goes on today, with people who don't quite carry around their contact information and other important things.

VOICE OF THE CUSTOMER

  • "I go to a different doctor and my information isnt on file thus i have to start all over with my medical history. "
  • "I waste too much time trying to find the doctor that can help me in my medical situation"
  • " i really like the way certain websites seem to cater to my interests, like amazon.com recommending books that they know i may like based on my past purchases but i do worry about the privacy of my information"

OUR SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE

  • At first, we resolved to create an app, as it was very easily installed on most modern technology. However, an app can be easily outdone by anyone who knows what they are doing. An app is also very difficult to have a world wide spread.
  • Then, we thought up of a necklace(or watch)-like tool, that monitored what someone does throughout their day(relating to health of course, for instance, what they have been eating, as well as their heart rate. The device would send information to medical centers over the course of a day.
  • However, even that solution had it's flaws. The necklace/watch would also be quite confusing for some if not most people nowadays, and once again, it would take too much to make such a device in mass production.

THE SOLUTION: THE MEDICARD!

  • The "MediCard" is a small device that contains a large amount of a person's medical information.
  • This card can be accessed by phones through blue tooth connection as well as Medical Center computers, allowing for easy information sharing through different bureaus.

APPLICATION IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES: EX. THE PHILLIPINES

  • BUILDING WiFi STATIONS: -With the "MediCard", people are able to walk into these WiFi Stations and add updates to the card.
  • People can also add new documents/medical information to the storage on the card.
  • CLASSES: People can be taught how to use the card, as well as the various features it has and give classes to others( not just in this example, but in multiple Third World Countries)
  • There also exists the 1(800)Iamhurt hotline where people can inquire about problems/confusion with the card.

PARTNERING WITH OTHER GROUPS

  • 15% of our profits from the device will go to our project in the Phillipines.
  • The Phillipine/American Red Cross will also help us in our effort to spread this.

Final Conclusion

  • The data we will collect, we are doing something with it. People from all over the world can benefit from these new technologies, young or old.
  • Wearable technology is the future of healthcare because of its convenience and (close) relationship to the patient.
  • While the necklace/watch and app could have various flaws in our main mission (a product that allows a spread of mobile health to third world countries), they could still be applied, or even recycled as future ideas.
