The concept of organizational climate:
It is the perspective that the members of an organization have on the environment of the same, the treatment and the conditions towards the workers that can generate well-being or nonconformity, it can also be said that it is the personality of the company and in this they influence variables from a Global aspect such as:

Variables:

  • Variables of the physical environment
  • Structural variables
  • Variables of the social environment
  • Personal variables
  • Variables characteristic of organizational behavior

Characteristics of the organizational climate: It is characterized by management, functional, motivational and interpersonal aspects of the members of the organization:

Characteristics

  • It is important that the organizational climate remains positive
  • A good working climate infers in productivity and efficiency
  • Affects the degree of commitment and identity of members with the organization
  • The attitudes of the members that attribute the behaviors
  • The way in which the organization is run, the policies and management plans infer that a good climate can be had
  • Absenteeism and job rotation where costs are incurred can generate job dissatisfaction

Forms of organizational climate:
Rensis Likert (1961 - 1967); indicates that organizational perceptions influence three groups of variables:

From the different variables presented Likert identifies four types of organization systems

where it can be related to the type of command and direction of the organization

Participation and Climate:
The participation infers in the motivation of the members of the organization, since this generates a labor inclusion, that is to say that the members feel that they are an important part of the organization, this would generate a more stable work environment.

This method is related to the model of Maslow's needs, where the needs that followed those of necessity are those of belonging, that is to say, the feeling of belonging to a group is part of a need of man. Under the following scheme, the needs are related to the levels of participation within the organization:

Techniques for the diagnosis of the organizational climate:
Within the context of climate the main involved are the members of the organization, the perception that has of the company is fundamental piece to know that climate and culture organization is had, of equal way to improve the internal environment

The measuring instruments that Likert offers are:

  • Style and authority
  • Motivational schemes
  • Communications
  • Influence processes
  • Decision making processes
  • Planning processes
  • Control processes
  • Performance and improvement objectives

As an instrument for gathering information, we have the questionnaires and interviews, where the questions can be formulated in different ways in order to identify specific and general aspects. It is important to note that it is important to identify climates by departments and infer in each subsystem of the organization.
