1st Day Observations
The white and wheat bread didn't do anything, but the French bread had small black lines on the bottom
Day 3 Observations
White and wheat still did nothing while the French bread was almost completely moldy with small yellow spots
Day 5 Observations
French bread shrunk in size with green mold all over it with orange spots
Day 6 Observations
The French bread was entirely covered in a grayish-greenish mold with small yellow spots
Day 7 Observations (final day)
The French bread shrunk even more with black mold now forming. It was hard with a spot of orange mold growing, while both the white and wheat bread growing no mold.
Our Mold
The mold we got on our bread is called Penicillium roqueforti. It is the common green mold.
Cause of the mold
Presence of spores, availability of a food source, and optimal temperatures.
We were surprised that only the French bread had mold, while the White and Wheat bread didn't get any mold
