Molybdenum was discovered in 1778 by a Swedish scientist , Carl W Scheele . Then in 1781 Peter J Hjelm combined carbon and molybdenite to produce a new metal called molybdenum

The Element name comes from the Greek word "molybdos" meaning lead

USEFULNESS
Molybdenums strength and resistance to high temperature makes it very useful in many areas .

AREAS OF USE

• Nuclear power plants
• Aircraft engines
• Glass furnace electrodes
• Petroleum industry's to catalyze the removal of organic sulfar
