By: Braden J. Burr

Fine everything is fine I told my wife as she nagged me about not having money to pay the bills

I told her I would just go get another job to make money fast. I had no idea what but I knew I would find something.

I was downtown sitting on a bench waiting for a bus on a cool summer night when a man dressed in all black walked up behind me and said, “Hey buddy looking to make some extra cash?” b

I quickly jumped up and said, “what do you have in mind”
He told me that all I had to do was go talk to his boss Big Randy and he would simply lend me some no questions asked.

Off we went to see Big Randy, I knew in my mind that there would be some kind of catch but I went anyway. When we arrived at a building with boarded up windows I was a bit skeptical then the shady man gave a secret knock.

We had to climb up two flights of stone stairs until we reached a door. We entered and there sitting in a brown leather chair was Big Randy he was a man of large stature with brown hair and green eyes. He welcomed us as we entered. He said, “I guess you want some money.”

I nodded my head. He said, “How much do ya need?”
I replied, “A couple thousand to pay off all my bills.” He chuckled and said I can do that, but you have to pay back every penny. I agreed then took the money.

I quickly jumped into my beautiful mazda rx8 and I flew home going 160 mph. As I walked in the house a thought occurred to me Big Randy never told me when I had to repay him. I just ignored that and told my family the good news. Everyone asked how I had got the money of course I didn't tell them. They could never know.

Later that month I was dosing off in my recliner when the phone rang. I answered and a voice said Its time to pay back what you took.

I replied, I have no money. The man on the other line chuckled and replied, “I don't want money I need you to make a delivery for me and fast.
I went to the meeting point the voice told me to go to and got out of my car. There was a box sitting next to a pole with a note on it that said take me to 745 rain street.

I quickly realized that that was a two hour drive. Then I flipped the note and it read cops won’t bother you get there as fast as you can.

I though the heavy box into the back of my car and quickly headed for the location. When I was almost there my phone rang again and a voice told me that that was just the first part of my payment and sent me a picture of a man getting shot.

He said next time you disappoint me this will be your wife. I knew I could never let that happen.
I was sitting at home when I got another phone call telling me to meet with Big Randy I slipped my handgun into the back of my pants and went over to his hideout.

He went on and on about how he had high expectations for me. Then he told he had entered me in a street race and if I didn't get first he would have to take action. I just looked at him then shook my head.

I said there was no way that I would do that. He then pulled a gun out and said I don't think you understand, you don't have a choice here I said I have two options and I've already decided. I quickly pulled out my gun and shot him right in the head.

Not realizing what I had done I heard a knock at the door and a guy from outside saying, “looks like we have a mess to clean up. I heard the door knob turn and I spun around and pulled the trigger three times and three people dropped to the floor.

I then walked out got in my car and headed down the road. I stopped when I saw the racers line up. I pulled my car to the line revved up my engine. I watched the light turn yellow then green. All the racers spun out and took off. Neck to neck then I blinked and everything was over.
